Dear DCEU Creator,

Hi! I’m dragneto on Tumblr/flirtygaybrit on AO3, and I’m an author!

 

I’ve been writing online in fandom for years, and the DCEU fandom has been one of the most rewarding places for me so far. I’m a fan of DC characters in general, including those from Batman: The Animated Series, Beware the Batman, Batman: Arkham series, Injustice, Telltale Games’ Batman (do I have a preference? Obviously not.) numerous times. I’ve never been heavily into comics, though I try to keep an eye on the events of current runs and I’m familiar with most major characters.

I’ve also been around the DCEU fandom since Man of Steel, but I’ve been writing for this fandom since the release of BvS and the introduction of other major Justice League characters.I love the shades of realism that are built into the DCEU and always strive to make my stories as believable as possible within this universe, whether it’s canon-compliant or a self-indulgent AU of some sort. Although I’m a very big fan of shipfic and romantic plots/subplots, I also really love character-driven stories; Batman has always been my thing, and I love showcasing his tech and detective abilities in my own stories, so seeing that in other works always excites me. I’m also very into body-related fields (human anatomy and physiology, biology, etc) and I tend to incorporate those into my own works, especially when it comes to kryptonite, medical mysteries involving alien biology, body horror, deep sea/space creatures, and so on.

For art and fic, I’m open to pretty much anything! I’m fine with general audiences/teen-and-up ratings going all the way up the ladder to explicit. In keeping with the theme of the DCEU, I love works that pay homage to specific scenes, reference other works, or include winks and nods to DCEU fans. For art specifically, I have no real style or visual preference when it comes to gifts! Black and white is fine, full colour is fine, single-panel or many panels—I’ll be happy with, and I mean this quite literally, anything at all you can come up with.

I’ve tried to include a few helpful details in this lengthy piece, and I’m always open to adding more and elaborating further on certain points!

General Likes

World Building: the DCEU is a very meticulously-constructed universe with a lot of really interesting details, references, allusions, etc, and I use those details to make my story as rich as possible. I love seeing reference to other in-universe characters, locations, incidents in the timeline, or plots that draw from the events of all of the movies, like in Shazam!. (This includes Suicide Squad. As for Justice League… well, I’m open to it, I guess.)

Canon-typical Happenings: including character death, violence, alien invasions, general JL/Superhero Activity; things that expand the world of the DCEU, including original characters (as long as they don’t somehow end up a main romantic lead). Canon compliant is a-okay, but canon divergent or post-canon is also fantastic! Especially rewrites or different interpretations of previous plot points or certain scenes/interactions.

Sci-Fi/Extraterrestrial People, Places, Tech: we didn’t get to see nearly enough of Krypton, so I’m always down for anything Kryptonian, be it garb, tech, lore, etc. May include Apokolips and Apokoliptian tech, the New Gods, Amazons, Atlanteans & the many undersea creatures & kingdoms, Scout Ship Shenanigans, and so on!

Real World Issues: I’ve seen people include or make reference to real-world events, catastrophes, politics, etc. fic for characters to deal with, and the DCEU itself does acknowledge many of these issues (i.e. pollution in Aquaman, politics and power in BvS, war in Wonder Woman). I welcome characters who express opinions based on real-world biases and attitudes in these works, as long as it doesn’t quite become the focus of the work (for example, characters are constantly being oppressed, Complex Alien Politics/Racism, etc.).

First Time Stories: first meetings are always great, and I’m also interested in general getting-together and/or regular ‘first time doing X’ stories. Can refer to porn if you interpret it that way.

Typical Tropes: all of the things that pair so well with DCEU-specific fics normally! Identity porn, all sorts of xeno kinks, major plot rewrites/changes, emphasis on/exploration of Batman, Kryptonian, Atlantean, Amazonian, or Apokoliptian tech, metahuman abilities of all of the above… even non-ship concepts like musings on metahumans and their reception within the world, etc.

AUs: almost anything you can imagine! In-verse, other verse, anything goes.

Requested Pairings and Characters

Arthur Curry/Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent

I’ve been in love with Jason’s Arthur since the very first time we saw him, and I’ve always been partial to the idea (part fanon, part Jason’s own suggestion) that Arthur met Clark back during MoS. Of course, we know how Bruce and Clark met, and anyone who knows me knows I’m pretty into that too. I love the idea that these three have all spent a lot of time working alone for various reasons, and now that they’re part of a team, they need to learn to play well with others. (Also, they’re all Very Large Men and their personalities seem to clash a lot, but underneath it all, they’ve all got hearts of gold.) Any combination of Arthur, Bruce, or Clark in any capacity is highly appealing to me, but all three at once? Perfect.

Prompts

Literally any combination of ‘X/Y invite Z into their bed/relationship’. Bruce and Clark get together after JL, maybe they both share an appreciation for Arthur? Bruce and Arthur develop a casual relationship after the events of JL and after discovering Bruce’s long-time feelings about Clark, Arthur decides to get him in on the fun? Arthur and Clark have been on and off for a couple of years and Bruce accidentally walks in on them and they don’t have a problem with it? The sky’s the limit on this one.

Maybe the rest of the League assumes they’re all just alpha males baring their teeth at one another because they don’t know how to let someone else take charge. It looks like they’re forever at odds, but it’s actually a very strange, complicated flirting attempt/courting ritual between a man, a half-Atlantean, and a Kryptonian.

Literally any AU where they need to go to Atlantis for some reason. Underwater shenanigans of all sorts ensue. Maybe Clark is fascinated by these ancient aquatic kingdoms and the adaptations of the different ocean denizens, while Bruce is very interested in the futuristic water-based Atlantean tech? Maybe the Karathen gets involved. Perhaps Bruce draws inspiration from Atlantean architecture. Who knows!

Bonus points/prompts: Arthur and Clark can hold their breath for so long. It really comes in handy for so many reasons. Also, Bruce’s ‘super/metahuman’ kink out in full force. Any kink can be out in full force, honestly.

Arthur Curry/Bruce Wayne

Taking into account all of the things I said above, I still have a special place for Bruce/Arthur in my heart because Bruce tries so hard to recruit him, and how long does he spend in Iceland making that trip? To offer Arthur how much money? And their unexpected heat-of-the-moment camaraderie—tossing the quindent, riding on the Batmobile, do you talk to fish?—they’re both proud men with tough exteriors and sometimes it’s nice to be able to soften up with somebody. Guys who can talk to fish and men who dress like bats go together like strawberries and cream.

Prompts

Alcoholism. We didn’t touch on it at all in the movie, but they’ve both got that in common, and maybe it’s just nice to have someone to commiserate and recover with after saving the world once or twice.

A story where Arthur meets Bruce in Gotham for the first time out of costume (with or without knowing him beforehand). Maybe he shows up unexpectedly at a gala or some charity event in a fantastic suit? Maybe he happens to be in the lake? Maybe Bruce meets him at some dive bar and decides to take him home (or vice versa, to some shabby hotel room Arthur’s staying at)?

Bruce in Atlantis or Arthur in Gotham in a learning-each-other’s-home-environment story. What about Gotham would Arthur like? What about Gotham would Arthur think is wildly surreal compared to the rest of the big cities he’s been to? Would Bruce think Atlantis is a fascinating place with incredible architecture/technology and an ancient culture, or would he be really weirded out by people riding sharks and seadragons, eloquent fishermen with gills and spines, and bipedal crab men?

A post-Aquaman prompt where Arthur assists with the coastal cleanup in Gotham after Ocean Master returns the trash to the surface dwellers. Maybe Arthur discovers that Bruce had some tech that got damaged in the ~warning~ and helps him retrieve it. Maybe Bruce contributes some Wayne Enterprises funds and technology to assist Arthur with cleaning up the ocean. Maybe together they create a vessel/special suit to allow Bruce to travel that deep beneath the surface so that he can speak on behalf of the League/apologize on behalf of surface dwellers and other major corporations to the leaders of the kingdoms.

Bonus points/prompts: Identity porn (for canon-divergent fic/AUs)? Arthur in different Atlantean gear that Bruce wants to peel him out of, or maybe wants to try on himself? As many fish puns as possible? Arthur needs to marry someone to maintain his throne legitimacy and Bruce seems like the best possible candidate? Bruce meets Arthur’s family in Maine and spends a romantic weekend by the lighthouse???? p l s

Arthur Curry/Orm Marius

This is a recent interest, but a powerful one. There is a complicated relationship between Arthur and Orm and a bond that transcends the border between land and sea. They share blood but little else, and over the course of their relationship, Orm’s hatred and disgust for his half-breed brother makes way for what seems like a grudging respect and admiration—or maybe it doesn’t, and maybe Orm is going to spend the rest of his life imprisoned, thinking about how badly he wants to be with his brother (for sex, or maybe murder). Orm’s eloquence and class clashes terribly (or wonderfully) with Arthur’s tough exterior and bad puns, but they have a deep love for one another nonetheless and nobody can take that away from them.

Prompts

Chains, restraints, manacles, and whatever else you can imagine would tie a fish down. We know Orm is very interested in tearing off the shirts of strangers and chaining them up in front of the throne, but maybe Arthur is interested in returning the favour. Maybe Atlantean prisons are specifically designed to shackle people with tails and multiple limbs, or maybe Atlantean technology is more innovative than simple chains and handcuffs. Perhaps Arthur would like to experiment with them, or maybe Orm has a kink for being at someone else’s mercy.

Bioluminescence, spines, prehensile penises, and other fascinating physical differences Atlanteans have developed. I’ve been pushing it in fics and I can’t get enough of it. Maybe Orm is covered in thick scales in some parts of his body, or maybe his body has a strange mechanism that is supposed to aid in mating. Maybe he has a hidden ability like Arthur and Mera, or perhaps he’s simply excited to see a human’s body for the first time in his life. Maybe Arthur is startled by a strange defensive response, or maybe he’s really into the fact that his brother has some REALLY WEIRD anatomy that he's started to get creative thoughts about.

Underwater sex. No gravity, gentle currents, unrestricted motion, fluids going in every direction. They could float together high above Atlantis, or try to find a spot on the seafloor where they can get some leverage. Maybe Atlantean sex is naturally acrobatic. Maybe an octopus watches them curiously from behind a rock. Anything is possible when you bang in the ocean.

Atlantean politics and/or team up AU. Arthur is new to this whole king thing, and he has no idea how to rule a kingdom… but his brother has been ruling for years, and he’s familiar with the kingdom’s relationships with other kingdoms, delegating responsibilities, making tough decisions. Maybe Arthur visits Orm in prison to ask his advice, or appoints him in a new position that he’s just made up on the spot to give guidance. Maybe they need to make peace with the other kingdoms, or debate whether to address the surface to explain just what happened with those war ships and trash heaps. Or maybe Arthur is being hunted, and needs Orm’s help to keep Atlantis a secret from the surface world.

Bonus points/prompts: Orm spending extended periods of time on land. Family bonding with Atlanna and Tom. Secret meetups in the ocean or on land, getting together in unexpected ways, growing up together AUs, Orm learning surface dweller pop culture references while Arthur is completely baffled by Atlantean culture.

Bruce Wayne/Slade Wilson

We only managed to see a few seconds of Slade within the DCEU, but he has such a great history in comics, games, and other DC properties; I love that they have such a long history together (or, in some versions, connections to one another that go way back), and mirror one another in so many different ways. Maybe their training was similar, and maybe they trained under the same people at different times in their lives like in Beware the Batman; they share similar skill sets in fields beyond martial arts and tech, and they always seem to be evenly-matched in almost every way (which Slade often respects), with a longstanding history of clashing together—until maybe they don’t clash quite so hard?

Prompts

Classic enemies-to-lovers trope, ‘friends’ step optional. Bruce has been doing the Bat thing in Gotham for over two decades, and Slade has been doing mercenary/’personal security’ work for longer than that. Maybe they know one another personally, outside of the suits, and maybe they’re just tired of fighting and getting nowhere. Bruce always foils Slade’s murderous plots, Slade always escapes from Bruce’s grasp, and it might just be time to sit down, reminisce about the old days, and acknowledge that there’s something more to their history and current relationship than just dancing on opposite sides of the law.

Maybe one day they fight and there isn’t a clear victor; Bruce isn’t able to outwit Slade with his tech, Slade isn’t able to outlast Bruce with his stamina and other abilities, and a truce would just be so much easier at the end of the day. Maybe their goals and moral choices are no longer black and white, but overlapping shades of grey. Or maybe their fight, a physical fight, turns intimate, and they start wrestling for a whole new reason.

Legion of Doom/Injustice League alternative plot: Slade (who may or may not have broken Luthor out of Arkham while Bruce was occupied with Steppenwolf) does the professional thing and tells Bruce what Luthor’s plans are with a number of other villains. Maybe he extends Bruce an invitation to the group Luthor is creating, or maybe Bruce extends him one to the League he’s already founded?

Bonus points/prompts: both of them bonding over being a stressed-out father who feels like he’s constantly failing his children? Fighting styles so well-matched that it feels like dancing (or sex)? Possible identity porn? AU where they’re on the same side/in the same profession for whatever reason? Bruce has Alfred speaking inside his cowl and Slade has Wintergreen’s artificial voice speaking inside his, and maybe their English associates have a long history together and just want Bruce and Slade to get along for once.

Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent

I mean, what am I supposed to say about these guys? They’re the reason I’m here. There’s so much potential for these two in every au, every canon, every divergent plot… I’m a real sucker for superbat in all of its forms. Identity porn, combat porn, romance porn, justice porn, tech porn, suit porn, bought-the-bank porn, regular porn… I mean, really, let your imagination go wild.

Prompts

Xeno kink. Includes absolutely anything you can dream up. Weird alien dick? Other Kryptonian powers? AU where Clark has a non-human form? Bruce with a less-than-subtle alien fetish, or fetish for one or more of Clark’s powers? Bruce who subtly tries to learn as much about extraterrestrial life as he possibly can from Clark, the Scout Ship, Diana, or any other resource he has at his disposal? There are so many different ways this could go.

Learning to share a leadership role in the JL. Maybe their relationship develops first and becoming leaders of the team is easy, or maybe they can’t decide who should lead and slowly fall for one another (or have angry, ‘you can’t boss me around’ sex) as they learn how to cooperate.

Identity porn of literally any sort at any point in the timeline, or in an AU! Maybe Clark never quite managed to confirm it was Bruce Wayne, and was only going on a hunch? Maybe Bruce never associated Clark with Superman and wasn’t involved in his burial? What if these idiots didn’t figure each other out at all, and they’re still not sure about it when the League comes together? Varying degrees of identity porn are welcome, too. Mix and match, baby.

Office intimacy. Maybe Bruce is in his office looking out over Gotham at night and Clark happens to be there. Maybe Clark has to stay late at the Planet to finish a column or some research and finds Bruce lurking in the shadows. Maybe someone keeps lube in their desk for a special occasion, or maybe one of them is already completely prepared for sex away from home. Bonus if they’re actually sort of invested in each other’s work and manage to help in an unexpected way.

Ill-concealed relationships. Maybe the rest of the League keeps treating them like a couple, or making thinly-veiled references, and Bruce and Clark are hilariously bad at keeping this a secret.

A story where they raise their son, Jarro, together in a happy, healthy home. Their dad jokes are horrible. The family dynamic is unusual, but it works.

Bonus points/prompts: Clark gets off (really gets off) on knives and other sharp edges AU. Or Clark gets off on something unexpected, potentially including the Bat as a concept and/or Bat-related things. Costume switching (or altering) for any reason. Bruce Gets Off On Anything AU. Marathon sex/sexual acts of any sort. Knightmare AU. Deep space travel au.

King Nereus/Orm Marius

Orm and Nereus have been rulers of their respective kingdoms for many years. There’s lots of opportunity for political thrillers, kingdom relationship/ruling dynamics, enthusiastic agreements/disagreements, and vigorous banging in the throne rooms. Also a little bit of an age kink. And maybe an authority kink. And maybe, JUST MAYBE, a kink for biological differences between various undersea citizens.

Prompts

Spanking.

A developing mentor/student dynamic as Orm takes the throne from his father and seeks guidance from Nereus, who may provide more than just advice on how to please a kingdom. Maybe eventually they view themselves as equals and contemplate merging their kingdoms with a royal wedding.

When the surface dwellers attack, Nereus pledges his armies to Orm’s cause, but only if Orm agrees to a few terms and conditions first (sex, probably.) Or maybe Nereus offers his support freely, and Orm offers himself in return.

Daddy kink. God knows Orm has father issues.

Bonus points/prompts: hunting or traveling together, meeting for the first time at the Atlantean supermarket, risqué sexual trysts on the seafloor in Old Atlantis where the other highborn Atlanteans would never think to look.

COMBINATION ROUND

King Nereus and/or Orm Marius and/or Arthur Curry WITH a Fish, Brine, Tylosaur, Sea Dragon, Trench Person, or Whatever Else You Can Think Of.

Don’t question me and my life choices.

General prompts: maybe Arthur's newfound fish-speak makes him quite popular among the trench, who are probably still somewhat intelligent and are curious about sex with non-trench. Maybe Nereus and the Brine King have had some weird, longstanding tension (romantic OR sexual? or maybe both? :D) that neither of them have addressed, and Nereus is interested in seeing what's underneath that armour (and vice versa). Maybe Orm's tylosaur was his first real sexual encounter, and he's That Dude who has a bond with his steed that people on the outside think is a little concerning. Nereus could be extremely involved with the Xebelian Seadragon Hatching Initiative and regularly spends time assisting his seadragon (or others) in collecting semen the old-fashioned way. Orm might meet a Brine diplomat in the Atlantean throne room who has a lot of legs and an alluring gaze. Arthur might meet Topo the octopus and accidentally fall in love. Or maybe he just falls in love with a regular octopus who happens to be an excellent conversationalist. The sky's the limit! And maybe they don't need to fuck a fully sentient thing. Dolphins are notoriously adventurous. Whales? Big. Very big. Those tiny fish that swim up your urethra? You know. ;)

Regarding the creature: at least make it somewhat aware of what's going on, even if it's a little less humanoid and a little more creature. Let it enjoy the sex, even if fish have no inherent concept of kink or seadragons aren't huge cuddlers afterward. Dubcon is fine, as long as the creature's cool with it and the humanoid person ends up having a good time too. Full-on terato/xenophilia is acceptable, along with whatever kinky and fantastical things you can come up with. Size kink, monster dick, general fish/sea mammal genitalia, strange ejaculation or courting/mating rituals, you name it.

Ben Affleck/Henry Cavill

(Bonus RPF Round)

This is a not-so-guilty pleasure of mine. Ben and Henry have such wonderful chemistry and their antics on the press tours (especially BvS) were absolutely hilarious and provided so much potential for both amusing and heartwarming friendship/bromance/getting together scenarios. I get that RPF isn’t everybody’s thing, but I love the idea of a blossoming romance between these two so much. Get-together, established relationship, thinly-veiled public flirting, too shy to make a move—all is welcome!

Prompts

The classic ‘we keep telling people we’re together, but nobody believes us’ trope; they tried so hard to talk about their sex life in interviews! They talked about lubing up before workouts! Henry tried to convince us that Ben only has small tattoos that make everything bigger! What if somebody decided that their talkshow and interview jokes weren’t just jokes? What if someone on-set could confirm or deny these things, or maybe slipped up and mentioned it?

The BvS/JL cast know that they’re interested in one another, but neither will take the first move. People are placing money on who acts first (on a date, kiss, sexual act, etc); maybe someone decides to try to play matchmaker and is very subtle about it? Or maybe they’re not so subtle about trying to shove them into a room together. Bonus points if both Ben and Henry have an on-set confidante that they go to when they’re feeling frustrated, twitterpated, or need someone to complain to about how good his ass looks in that suit. Extra bonus points if they keep going to the same person, who acts as the world’s best secret keeper.

A ‘70s pornstar AU. Henry and that moustache were a lot for anybody to cope with, but what if he actually happened to be an especially handsome mustachioed pornstar in the 70s? And what if Ben also happened to be a porn star, or maybe a struggling Hollywood actor, and they end up having a secretive relationship?

Bonus points/prompts: superhero roleplay, ‘stache and/or beard appreciation, extremely supportive friends/family/castmates, KAL. Always Kal. An AU where Ben is a dog walker and Henry hires him? A fic from Kal’s point of view? Pls. I love this dog.

Do Not Wants

Batfam. References to the dead Robin are fine, but generally do not prefer any of the batkids, especially as main characters.

Excretions. Blood and semen are fine, saliva is probably fine, but I’m not looking for scatplay or golden showers here. Unless………..

Mpreg. Or any preg, really. Oviposition is great, but no carrying anything to term, egg or person or otherwise. I do not care about baby/child raising (unless it’s Jarro, who is already a respectable hero and did not come out of anyone’s orifices).

Non-Con. Dubcon is fine, dubcon bordering on non-con can be fine as long as it eventually becomes more consensual, but hard non-con is out. If anyone regrets it, no thanks.

Ageplay. A condescending ‘son’ (ie Bruce in BvS) is fine, and in moderation, ‘old man’ jokes can be fine. Even a good ironic ‘daddy’ is appreciated, but none of that daddy dom/little girl/boy stuff, no diapers or soothers or bottles. None of it.

A/B/O. In general, just… probably not. There are a few other AUs I don’t really tend to gravitate toward, too, so high school/college/coffee/flower shop AUs are probably also out. May be willing to compromise on this, depending.

Unhappy endings. I love angst in fic, but I don’t really want something that’s going to leave me feeling worse for having read it.

Misc Interests/Offerings

I have a fairly large variety of interests when it comes to AUs! Even if I didn’t name a lot of specific AUs here, I love seeing what people are able to come up with, and I’m pretty easy-going about stories where people can plop my favourite characters into a plot or new world that really lets their interests and creativity shine.

Same with kinks! Not that every story needs kinks or porn or a mature rating, but there are plenty of kinks under a few different umbrella terms—just about anything under xeno kinks, for example, including kinks for super-strength, heat vision, icy breath, alien genitals (or alien anything). Any physiological or anatomical differences used for kinky purposes are welcome.

Under BDSM, things like breathplay, painplay, throatfucking, restraints, toys of all shapes and sizes, cumdumping, fighting/blood kink, fisting, sensory deprivation, gun kink, anonymous/unsafe sex (though, perhaps no STIs)… I mean, this is a broad category, but as long as my DNWs are avoided, I’m open to plenty of other acts!

And of course, general sex things like suit or clothing-ripping, masturbation/assisted or mutual masturbation, cock and/or ass worship, Kryptonite-related kinks, sex pollen and other variations of, mild (or intense) voyeurism, semi (or just plain) public sex, praise kink, taboo sex (again, conditional), plant sex, fish sex, crab sex, trench creature sex, sex with that big ol’ tylosaur or other Atlantean or space creatures, sex in unconventional ways/places, and many others that I’m sure I won’t remember to put in this letter.
