Dear Fic in a Box creator,

Hello and thanks for being here! Whether you’ve been assigned to me for this exchange or are simply browsing for ideas, I hope this letter will satisfy your needs! Under the cut you’ll find a series of fandom, ship, character, and, if relevant, possibly some medium and/or freeform-based likes (SFW & NSFW), as well as a quick overview of my DNWs. There should be a few ideas (scenes, visuals, general vibes) for you to borrow inspiration from, but don’t feel limited to just creating whatever I’ve written here—if you have ideas of your own, or want to do something different that I haven’t mentioned, I’d love to see it! I’m grateful and excited for any and all gifts and treats (recursive included!), and I cannot wait to see what wonderful things you bring to life. <3

  • unrequested crossovers
  • non-canonical trope, lifestyle, or profession AUs (school/university, coffee/flower/tattoo shop, depowered, etc.)
  • non-canonical gender identities; top/bottom roles as character traits
  • MPREG or other non-canonical pregnancy; omegaverse; kidfic; baby or child-related kinks
  • non-canonical major character death; for medias where character death is not fixed—video games, time loops, simulations—feel free to explore different outcomes!
  • sex involving characters under 16 (sexual interactions between teenagers 16+ and/or with adult characters are great!)
  • bleak or unrequited endings (exception made for canonically doomed characters/ships/etc.)
  • bigotry as a major plot or theme (internalized or externalized)
  • detailed kink/safe word negotiation

Likes & Preferences

Since some of my DNWs are about non-canonical things, I’d be happy to clarify that I do love canon divergence, rewrites, and further explorations of characters that are not expanded on in canon, including character or ship studies, environment or world-building exploration, and so on! Here are some tropes, plots, genres, and other things that I love in a non-exhaustive, very flexible list:

Genres, tropes, vibes, and other inclusions:

  • canon divergence; missing scenes or scene expansions; rewrites and alterations of scenes, plots, or other canon events; ‘all things are the same except for one tiny detail’-style plots
  • introspective pieces for locations, ships, characters; character or relationship studies; meta discussion or explorations of characters, ships, locations, and/or canon-specific world building
  • non-linear storytelling; unreliable narrators; multimedia stories; stories that make use of format changes to reflect ongoing changes in tone/plot
  • mysteries! case fic or detective stories and investigations; whodunnits; murder or medical or scientific mystery; characters trying to prevent disasters (apocalypses, accidents, canonical deaths or other events) and succeeding or possibly failing; all of the delicious identity porn that comes with secret or hidden identities
  • sci-fi or other genres that allow for time loops, simulations etc.; game or other canon mechanics that let you time travel, save scum, or experience butterfly effect-style outcomes; characters who are entirely aware of the situation or who slowly discover the mechanics/plot devices over time; characters who are aware of and exploit the relevant universe mechanics intentionally
  • sci-fi genres involving futuristic or alien settings and environments; alien (including mutated, warped, or experimented-upon) flora, fauna, technology, or biology; space or ocean-based settings and plots; robots and technology-based plots, characters, or devices; exploration of powers, physiology and anatomy of non-human or altered characters or beings; interactions between non-powered characters and powered characters; characters taking interest in a different character’s abilities and learning them inside out; characters using newfound or developing abilities to their full potential, or discovering/seeking their limitations; world-building and political discussions around known aliens/superpowers/monsters
  • action and adventure or thriller genres; heists and reverse heists; chase and/or combat sequences, small scale and large; travel or training montages; characters getting into battles/smaller fights, or cleverly evading enemies; depictions of scenarios or environments that make use of stealth, combat, etc.
  • general depictions or reinterpretations of canon-appropriate game mechanics (video game, tabletop, etc.) in fic or art; introducing game logic or mechanics to non-game canons and scenarios; explicit inclusion of mechanics or plot devices such as PC dialogue options, repetitive or limited NPC dialogue, quest-giving or resolving, resource gathering, combat/stealth (see above), QTEs, rolls, or skill checks; successful or failed encounters; collectibles or achievement trophies
  • existential, cosmic, body, psychological, or other forms of horror; characters encountering frightening creatures, plants, technology, etc.; the exploration of taboo or unpleasant tropes or subject matter via various horror genres; characters fighting or fleeing or becoming monstrous (literal); monstrous changes/conditions/encounters as metaphors
  • non-linear narratives/storytelling; multi-media stories; epistolary format; world-building or plot-relevant info delivered via in-universe methods (official documents, journals, magazine or newspaper articles, recordings)
  • world-building in general! exploration of the rules of the chosen canon; expansion of any given canon into the past, present, or future; speculation on pre- or post-canon events involving characters, locations, etc.
  • choose your own adventure/ending (in fic, art, interactive fiction, or in some other medium)
  • detailed depictions of or meta about outside environments & landscapes; rooms or other interior environments; props and objects, including technology, gadgets, or ordinary things characters interact with; clothing or outfit design
  • misc. things like general allegory & symbolism; religious imagery; tarot imagery; pieces inspired by or reimagined in the style of classic works and styles (or prose, poetry, etc.); myth, legend, or fable retellings; borrowing from/adapting plots of other medias (such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent becoming a House of Leaves adaptation, for example)

Characters and ensemble dynamics:

  • characters that work together as a group or party (willingly or not); characters that are surprised by team dynamics or the effectiveness of collaboration; exploration of various relationship or team dynamics within the group or from an outsider’s perspective; the development of unlikely duos/trios/etc.; characters training or sparring with focus on intimacy and/or competence kink
  • post-breakup (or post-canon separation) reunions for characters or teams; groups reuniting by accident or for a common cause; characters who have separated who find their way back together to experience new and different dynamics; the feeling of ease (or unease) that comes with reunion, or the reignition of old feelings; characters returning with new perspectives and motivations
  • power dynamics between characters/teams; the intentional or unintentional exploitation of power dynamics; navigation of imbalances that are due to physicality, age, experience, or professional position
  • characters making and executing plans that succeed or fail in spectacular fashion; plans that succeed or fail in unexpected ways; characters who must improvise to evade danger or suspicion, or to succeed with their task
  • characters or ships in extremis; characters pushed to their limits and/or forced to survive beyond them; environments or locations experiencing the same—the slow decline or destruction of a beloved home or sanctuary, a forest razed by fire that must regrow, etc.
  • intimacy! there is an entire NSFW intimacy-based section below, so I will focus here on non-sexual situations that are intimate: conversations, revelations, discoveries; action or stealth-based sequences; scenarios involving forced or consensual close proximity (can turn NSFW of course); characters expressing physical or emotional vulnerability; characters trauma bonding over shared experiences
  • barriers to friendship or intimacy; characters dealing with insecurities, resentfulness directed toward the self or others, feelings of self-loathing or uncertainty, or other internal turmoil; characters who have difficulty expressing themselves or communicating their needs and learn to do so; characters who keep (plot/identity/history-relevant) secrets and must deal with others reacting to them when they are exposed or divulged
  • classic AO3 relationship tropes: any and every part of ‘enemies to friends to lovers’; slow-burn (emotionally or physically); sexual tension and/or UST; getting-together or first-time stories; established relationships; doomed relationships; temporary or perceived one-sided-that-could-secretly-be-mutual pining; characters who don’t realize they’ve developed feelings for other characters, or whose feelings are complicated; characters who don’t understand that they’re in a relationship even when everyone else does; characters who want very badly to be in a relationship but still have trouble connecting or communicating; characters whose acts or feelings of loyalty and devotion (wavering or unwavering) become romantic or sexual; characters who cannot separate any of those things at all
  • hurt and comfort, hurt with a little comfort, hurt with a lot of comfort, etc.; angst, tragedy, whump, injury, characters being taken care of and/or characters resisting care, and all of these things being applied to sex too—I like when the characters have a bad time, but I also enjoy it when they have a good time :’D

Art Likes

All of the above can certainly apply to art, or any other non-fic mediums you’re interested in creating. I love all sorts of visual aesthetics, so this is by no means a comprehensive list—honestly, I’ll be incredibly pleased with anything you’re willing to create for me, and I’m excited to see your personal touch applied to fandoms that I already adore!

  • art genre or style swaps; characters or locations/environments reimagined or depicted in different or unusual visual styles, or even just your own regular style
  • art of characters or environments recreated in the canon’s style (if applicable)
  • monochromatic, experimental, or limited colour palettes; colour palettes that clash horribly; colour palette swaps for characters
  • character portraits (solo, ship art, ensemble casts); can be head-up, bust, ¾, or something else
  • redraws: scene or screenshot, characters reimagined as memes or in different outfits or environments; scenes redrawn as game mechanics (QTEs, dialogue choice screens, etc.); redraws or different depictions of existing game mechanics/overlays, inventory screens,
  • comic-style artwork made of a single panel (or multiple panels)
  • that thing where characters drawn in sequential pieces suddenly change styles and become simplified (or highly complex/stylized/essentially doing the opposite of the usual animation/art style) for comedic effect
  • emoji/emotes; avatars/profile photos; general social media-oriented art forms
  • other medium (or in-canon mediums): logos; movie posters; book/vinyl/CD/VHS covers and sleeves; magazine spreads; newspaper and/or journal articles; email, forums, or other website overlays/layouts
  • textures or visuals associated with the above mediums—scanlines, grain/static effects, desaturated or limited colour palettes, glitched visuals, ripped or creased or peeled paper/cardboard textures
  • creative or unconventional lighting sources and techniques; rim lighting; lighting designed to intentionally highlight or conceal certain details; tasteful lens flares; gratuitous and non-tasteful lens flares
  • for texture in digital or traditional art: visible brush/pencil/etc. strokes; various textures, brushes, and/or other techniques used to imply detail that isn’t explicitly rendered or for other stylistic purposes;
  • bold outlines; fine line work; negative space; silhouettes; characters who blend into shadow or the background; characters that are in sharp focus against blurred backgrounds, or vice-versa; objects that are in sharp focus, leaving the rest of the scene in the background to create tension/comedy/etc.
  • nudity of all sorts: non-sexual, anatomy studies, medical/wound care/display, implied nudity, or explicit sexual nudity
  • porn (just go wild, anything and everything is in!)
  • as in the general likes category: allegory & symbolism; religious imagery; tarot imagery; pieces inspired by or reimagined as well-known or classic artworks; characters, locations, set design, props, etc. drawn in various historical styles of art;
  • also as mentioned above: detailed depictions of environments & landscapes, interiors; set design; characters using props, or props pictured alone; blueprints or disassembled diagrams of props; blueprints of rooms/buildings; maps of all sorts!
  • clothing and wardrobe detail; wardrobe swaps for characters; fabrics and upholstery
  • depictions of figures dwarfed by landmarks/geography or gargantuan creatures/technology/etc.; depictions of unusual or impossible structures, creatures, technologies and/or landscapes
  • sci-fi, horror, film noir, western, mystery, anime, or other distinctive genre aesthetics. I dunno, just do whatever feels right!

NSFW Likes

I like NSFW… end of section. :’D now, when I talk about sex/porn in fic/art, I’m referring to my enjoyment of both the graphic and explicit kinds and the fade-to-black, prose-heavy, possibly not even mentioned by name kinds. There are so many ways to create and describe or depict intimacy and I’m into all of them! The ones where it’s hinted at, or where you need to read between the lines, or with partial or no nudity, or happening via dialogue lines, or whatever, and all of the fully-described, worthy-of-an-explicit-tag horny shenanigans one could think of… all great to me. I love hot and heavy scenes, I love scenes with just enough intimacy to tease, and I love works that combine both! Porn with plot or without, with one partner or multiple, in a bed with lights off or in the most risky and horrible of spaces—I’m ready to see how you tackle these character dynamics, and you’re welcome to be as shameful and indulgent as you’d like!

For the most part, I prefer many kinks to be under-negotiated, as in the people involved don’t always take time to spell out safe words or ask what acts aren’t okay until they potentially run into them; but if part of setting the scene includes buildup to a particular taboo act, or if it fits a character to desire a specific act of intimacy that you think should be explored in detail (either their consent or lack of, or their previous experiences with it being worth visiting, or the development of thoughts on new and unexplored acts) then feel free to run with your idea! I’m just thrilled you’re here. :’D

First, a category for xenophilia, including superhero/metahuman, werecreature/shapeshifter, monster and/or extraterrestrial-related kinks, for appropriate canons or plots. Maybe a character is turning monstrous, or was born with certain abilities, or is part of an alien race, or has come across a creature that looked at them a little too hungrily—please free to explore topics related to various powers and abilities, anatomies, and physiologies, including but not limited to:

  • classic superhuman powers, including innate superhero abilities, superhero abilities gained as a result of an incident, and/or abilities gained from being altered by technology, parasitic aliens, radioactivity, and so on

  • non-human genitals (or non-human anything!); multiple dicks/orifices; an abnormal number of fingers or toes; the abnormal appearance or function of hands/feet/claws; creative use of non-human claws, tails, genitals, tongues, or other appendages; characters who are incredibly horny for and eager to test non-ordinary genitals or other non-human appendages; characters who are repulsed by or wary of the above traits but find them enjoyable under the correct conditions; characters seeking out partners with these traits specifically for sexual experimentation purposes

  • monstrous or otherwise non-human organs affecting performance, such as different sexual organs entirely, or more or fewer than expected; different refractory periods; unusual ejaculate volume, consistency, or appearance; non-human sexual behaviours or expectations; changes to other fluids (saliva, mucous, waste) that a partner might make use of with a partner or on their own

  • xenophilia meets breeding kink; again, no kidfic or actual pregnancy with a child between two human characters, but depending on the scenario I’d be fine with impregnation by a creature—as an example, depending on the story, the threat or act of oviposition or impregnation by a different set of genitalia should be fine as long as the story isn’t specifically about pregnancy or child-raising, but rather the kink of the act itself

  • essentially, any non-human physiological or anatomical differences used for creative and/or sexual purposes are welcome; I’d love to see characters develop new kinks they didn’t know they had (consensually or by force), or have the opportunity to act upon existing desires or interests. Characters who are taken by surprise by their reaction (positive or negative) to their partner’s characteristics or even by their own are also appealing to me!

Some other things I enjoy in my NSFW, including but not limited to:

  • penetrative acts (assplay/vaginal play of any sort, oral sex, fingering, fisting, rimming/felching, mouth & throat fucking, multiple penetration, use of fuckable or insertable toys, etc); using various combinations of hands/mouth/genitals to achieve or receive penetration, or otherwise simulate it

  • non-penetrative acts such as masturbation and/or assisted masturbation (clothed, semi-clothed, or unclothed); intercrural/thigh jobs, chest-fucking, or characters using a character’s various other body parts to get themselves off; characters orgasming on other characters (on genitals or non-sexual organs/limbs, or on clothing); dry humping or frotting; heavy petting; just straight up kissing can be incredibly hot too imo

  • characters fantasizing about other characters; characters using someone else’s clothes/personal belongings to get off; characters having feelings (enthusiastic or conflicted) about the person(s) or thing(s) they’re fantasizing about for various reasons

  • barebacking; creampies; wiping semen on/off of someone; cumdump/gangbang including multiple partners (consensual or not); anonymous, risky, and/or public sexual encounters; voyeurism and exhibitionism; characters engaging in sexual acts at inappropriate locations/times (such as with another person unaware or semi-aware in the room); double penetration; spitroasting; various other multi-person positions in whatever configuration you’d like;

  • various kink acts such as breathplay/asphyxiation; sensory play or deprivation (blindfolds, gags, etc.); biting/bite marks; pain and/or blood play; temperature play; restraints and suspension; gun, sword, or other weapon kink including object insertion, even with the threat of physical harm; general clothing/clothed body part kinks (like gloves/hands, underwear, etc.)

  • praise kink; dirty talk; characters who plead or beg (to continue or to stop); characters becoming overstimulated (or remaining understimulated/edged) and frustrated; characters who resist receiving stimulation/achieving orgasm (either dubcon or desire to prolong acts); characters denying or delaying orgasm for partners; characters who don’t finish during sex

  • fealty/loyalty kink; acts of faith, devotion, or adoration that become sexual or are inherently sexual in nature; body worship; fixation on and appreciation of various physical characteristics; characters discovering new appreciation for erogenous zones (or surprising themselves with unexpected ones)

  • sex overall is great! rough, desperate, filthy sex; sweet, slow, and heart-meltingly intimate sex; sex that doesn’t last long enough/premature ejaculation; porn with feelings; porn without feelings; sex that is highly situational; adrenaline-fueled sex; marathon sex/intentional edging; characters trying new things and having fun together; awkward/imperfect/realistic sex; service tops/bottoms; versatile characters; characters with specific act or position preferences, or who will try anything once

  • dubcon due to identity shenanigans, general mistrust/lack of interest, or due to other reasons which are yours to decide; characters who are resistant to and possibly coerced into intimate acts and are surprised when they enjoy it; characters becoming aroused by unwanted acts/experiences and getting off reluctantly; characters who are aroused only by their partner’s arousal; characters being used for sexual situations without necessarily getting off themselves

  • noncon can be delightful, but it’s so ship and scenario-specific that dubcon may be a better option in fic/writing; for different mediums where dubcon/noncon may look similar, like art, you can take some liberties in your inspiration! Characters taking advantage of others or being taken advantage of due to age, inexperience or lack of knowledge, lack of physical autonomy (restrained, kidnapped, drugged, etc.), power or position, as a transaction/favour, all are good flavours to me!

  • I also love characters experiencing complicated feelings, such as internal turmoil, shame, or reluctant appreciation/enjoyment of taboo or inappropriate situations, gestures, or direct or indirect acts (such as sexual attraction to a family member, teenager attracted to an adult in a position of power, mutually aroused by infidelity, someone intentionally exploiting other imbalanced dynamics, etc.)

1899

If you know me, or have read about my affinity for Dark (2017), then you may be able to guess that I am in love with this series from the same creators. I love mystery, I love sci-fi, I love period pieces, and I love a good bit of human nature-based introspection with a healthy dose of reality-breaking. I adore that this is a multinational cast, and I would love to see works which capture the aesthetic of the show (in both its time periods, with glitchy breaks in reality, impossible set pieces, period-appropriate technology and decor, etc.), and its themes of connection and communication, dishonesty and mask-wearing, the human mind and the effect of perspective. I’d love to see dialogue in multiple languages, different environments (Kerberos, Prometheus in 1899 and/or 2099, the dream/memory chambers), costuming laden with symbolism… seriously, anything you want to do, I’m happy to fawn over!

And since the second and third seasons have been canceled, please feel free to get as speculatory as you’d like, if you’re interested in moving beyond the events of the first season—incorporate your favourite conspiracy theories about the show into your work! Make up your own story about how things might go in future seasons, or show me new environments and outfits for the characters we know and love. If you want to create something which takes place in a different simulation/time cycle, please do! This canon is made for just that—anything and everything could have happened in previous simulations, and since we don’t have all the answers yet, it means we get to make them up ourselves. ;)

For any of the ships listed below—most of which I’ve requested in my signup as being X/Y romantic ships—you’re also very welcome to write them simply as friendships, if you’d like, or let them be filled with as much Victorian-era and/or futuristic yearning as they can possibly generate.

Eyk Larsen

Eyk is a top-tier character for me because he is so wet and tortured and desperate for contact despite being a well-respected figure of authority, and I like that sort of pathetique vibe in a rugged seafarer. So much of him is still up to our imagination, and I’d be happy to see any of it explored—his past, his future, his relationship with the people around him, his internal thoughts and feelings that would only ever spill out in moments of extreme suffering or dire circumstances—in whatever manner you deem appropriate! The neat thing about this canon is that I’m interested in both the version of the character that we see (alcoholic ship captain who Cares So Much in 1899, and ??? in 2099), and anyone creating fanworks about Eyk can have their cake and eat it too, simply by choosing whether to expand upon/explore his fictitious background, or whether to expose all of the lingering secrets of the 2099 Eyk that we see at the end of the season. His family, his job, his Haunted Past, all are fair game!

I think he’s a great candidate for ensemble pieces but also introspective ones too; a character who struggles so much with coming to terms with an impossible reality because his existence is already so heavily affected by horrific traumas makes him easy to pick on, and I love that he’s willing to trust his crew and the people around him even when things are so far beyond his comprehension. His relationship with the characters that we see bleed through, like his connection to Maura, his treatment of the crew, and his distrust of Daniel all interest me, and I’d love to see what aspects of those remain true for him (or about him) outside of the sim, prior to or following it, or how much of those same mistakes he continues to make in every loop. I love depictions of him as a man who suffers immensely at every turn, but I also cannot get enough of those moments in which he stands tall and commanding and asserts his authority even when everyone doubts him. Eyk Larsen contains multitudes, and I would love to see him in any and all situations, whether in fic or in art or in any medium you’d like to create!

I am also immensely into the idea of Eyk as the boat’s bicycle, as it were, so do with that info what you will. Please. I’m begging. He’s so needy it hurts. :’D

Daniel Solace

Also a top-tier character for me: a second guy who also wears a long dark coat, broods a lot, keeps secrets, and also cannot stop Being Wet for Reasons. Pretty wild to get two of ‘em in one go, but I’m not complaining—I love the kind of character arc that Daniel experiences in this show, because having motivations revealed that flips previously villainous character vibes completely upside-down are always gratifying, and I think Daniel really is a sympathetic character. I’m certainly willing to allow for, you know, a little nuance (if Henry’s flashback can be believed, him being a Science Man willing to experiment on his peers, possibly even his own child and/or wife, is really fucking interesting!) but generally, I love that you can see several levels of exhaustion hitting him all at once, and I love that his motivations seem to be that he’s just an incredibly young loverboy mourning some terrible losses and trying very hard to overcome some incredibly difficult emotional and logistical obstacles to get that love back and right some wrongs. And if none of that is true at all, even better. :’D

If you love the (fan-fueled) idea that Daniel isn’t telling the truth about himself—is an AI, is deceased IRL, is straight up not Maura’s loving husband at the moment, is actually Ciaran(!) and so on—I’d love to see your take on his mysterious origins and motivations. I love that he is an action hero as well as a problem-solver, so I’m always excited to see him doing the things that he is very adept at (slinking around, using bad pick-up lines, attracting Eyk’s suspicious eye, playing his Nintendo Switch, getting absolutely bodied in physical combat), but I’d love to see him outside of the sim, or in different versions of this loop, or… doing anything at all, really! Glitching through reality, one corrupted file at a time.

I’d also love to see more of his relationship with Elliot, or Maura, or more of his protective dad/husband/beetle parent thoughts and actions, and I’ll always appreciate discovering where his animosity toward Eyk comes from, whether he has physically fought Henry with his bare hands, and how many more trench coats will fall out of his pockets if he accidentally trips over the carpet. More of Daniel using different futuristic technology! More pre-sim flashbacks, or flash-forwards to 2099, or whatever you’re interested in digging into. I’ll gladly take any amount of him being depicted with pure cringefail husband wet cat energy, too. I miss my goal-oriented hackerman and would love to see him. <3

Sebastian

Okay, I’m a huge sucker for a character in a service role, and a bigger sucker for a character with divided and ambiguous loyalties, and a bigger sucker still for dudes with incredible moustaches. Sebastian—if that is his real name—fits the bill so fucking well that it’s almost painful. I love his intense dedication to Having No Opinions of His Own and simply letting other people tell him what to do, while also committing to doing none of it as he runs off and does secret schemes of the devious sort. I think he’s sexy as hell—First Mate always is, because, well, someone has to be in charge when the captain falters—and there’s something Tino does with Sebastian, whose motivations we may never know, to portray him as being so bitter and angry toward other characters in a way that makes him almost infuriatingly interesting to me. I want to know this guy’s deal, and I am very certain that further seasons would have involved him having complicated relationships with all of the expected suspects (Eyk, Daniel, Maura), but I don’t want to commit to any particular headcanons because I’d love to see how you interpret him!

I dig the idea that he could be Ciaran, as per popular fanon/fandom speculation, but I also dig the idea that Sebastian may simply be a guy who just isn’t who we think he is. Whether you consider that to be a simulation thing, a different identity thing, or something else entirely is up to you! In particular I’m very fond of his treatment of Eyk—supportive in almost every way, except for when he’s playing sci-fi video games and activating cheat codes, so I’d love to see something that focuses on his role as the (fake?) first mate, either in the simulation or outside of it, especially since he also seems to have a similar right-hand relationship to Henry; anything that speculates on Sebastian’s identity, purpose, goals, relationships, and so on would be very welcome, really, and it would be great to consider whether Sebastian retains his memories from each sim to the next, or if he gets wiped clean too! Even just depictions of him looking cool as hell (calm and collected in his fancy work attire, or in sleek 2099/other sci-fi genre clothing, or maybe roughed up and looking incredibly sexy with some bruises and blood, hehe) would be appreciated. I just think he’s neat and I want to see more of him.

Eyk Larsen/Sebastian

For the thirteen entire seconds that Eyk spends acting like a real captain on the Kerberos, I absolutely love seeing his interactions with the crew, especially the ones who have known him the longest, or at least pretend to! As the first mate, Sebastian has the most direct and erotic role as Eyk’s confidante (naturally) and second-in-command (necessary for delegating). If Eyk can’t handle something, Sebastian surely can—except sometimes it seems like Eyk can’t handle very much at all, and Sebastian’s confident attempt at playing a cool villain probably gets thwarted every time by their intense homoeroticism reaching its natural conclusion. Or so I’d like to believe. Even if the relationship is not precisely as it seems, the one presented in the simulation, built into their backstories and seemingly accepted by Eyk subconsciously, could be a good place to begin questioning just what they mean to one another and how long they’ve been working… together? in opposition? Who knows. How does the simulation turn out in other iterations, and do they ever grow suspicious of one another for other reasons, or is Eyk always surprised by this turn of events? How loyal is Sebastian willing to be in order to maintain the ruse, and what might happen if he found his loyalties shifting? I’d be so thrilled to see versions of this false relationship because of the sheer potential of their working relationship and all of the trust and power balancing that comes along with a situation like theirs, but I’d also love to see what sort of relationship exists outside the simulation too! Are they nemeses, or coworkers, and are they fucking nasty either way? It’s not necessary for either of those relationships, but it sure wouldn’t hurt. ;)

I’d really love to see different versions of events on the Kerberos/Prometheus, or other failed simulation shenanigans—in previous loops, did Sebastian’s loyalty ever waver? Did he ever play a role other than first mate, and how would that change their dynamic if he presented himself differently? Would he tend to Eyk’s wounds if needed, or find himself accidentally caught up in situations where he risked being discovered and had to throw all caution to the wind and blow his disguise? Maybe he would want to remind Eyk of his true identity, and could show him his gadgets (pls, the hand-guiding possibilities), or maybe he took Eyk and the others through a nightmarish reality-glitching experience (like Daniel’s ability, but possibly less helpful in the end). I’d like to see moments where he and Eyk really connect when they aren’t expecting it, either in a professional or a personal sense, or situations where they butt heads and must work things out in order to allow the simulation to progress. Or tragic endings for them both, that would also be great, because there’s nothing sadder than a captain watching his first mate, closest friend, and greatest weakness fail.

Also, please feel free to dress or undress them appropriately. I’d love to see them in their coats with that professional bearing, but they can also be roughed up, and I would be so happy to see them sharing private, not-safe-for-work moments in various areas of the ship(s), or on the sea, or even in their own memories!

Eyk Larsen/Daniel Solace

Something about two incredibly emotional and vulnerable loverboys who spend a lot of time brooding in coats and mourning loved ones they’ve lost really gets me good. You’ll see that I’ve also requested Eyk/Daniel/Maura, but first I’d like to share thoughts on these two in particular—naturally, when the narrative sets three characters up in a very obvious love triangle of sorts, I think it makes sense not only to explore the ways in which they oppose one another, but the ways in which they clearly must complement one another! And since I don’t have any particularly strong thoughts on Maura’s role in a story or piece of work that focuses more on Eyk and Daniel, you can do more or less whatever you want. Infidelity arcs are great, depictions of the canon couple having grown apart or split pre- or post-canon work well, an accidental coming-together without Maura, a coming-together orchestrated by Maura… the setup is yours to imagine, I just like the idea of them together!

I think the usual suggestions for possible stories or plots or depictions in this show apply here. Maybe there’s a version of the simulation where Daniel tries to wake up Eyk rather than Maura, desperately attempting to convince him of their past. If Eyk thinks he’s lost his wife due to his sim background, what might a new, confusing, potentially romantically or sexually charged dynamic stir in him? Would anyone (Maura included) notice any tension between them, or misattribute the actions they see to a different emotion or motivation? Would Elliot have any idea what’s going on, and would his goal of waking Maura diverge dramatically from Daniel’s if Daniel set off on a different mission? I think it would be neat to see the emotional and physical tension cranked up between them, too. Maybe they’ve come to blows before, or their forced proximity and the terror and vulnerability that comes with needing to trust someone when reality has shattered forces them into some strange emotional turmoil. A doomed relationship, a blossoming romance, a hesitant courtship, anything at all would be wonderful!

Maura Franklin/Eyk Larsen/Daniel Solace

I want Daniel to go into Project Kerberos attempting to wake up his wife, and I want him to end up with a boyfriend, too. Maura has two hands, goddamnit, and I think it’s only natural that she should get to have two absolutely pathetic doe-eyed men to do with as she pleases. Eyk and Daniel both deserve to have a wife and a husband, and since at least two of these people are maybe, possibly already married, what better way to introduce a third? This can be platonic or romantic, in whatever way suits you best, or even a mix of both if you prefer!

Generally, I absolutely love the aesthetics of things like clothing swaps and battle couples/throuples, so it would be super cool to see the three of them at their best and most powerful—Maura running around in Eyk or Daniel’s coat, for example, or Daniel in some of Eyk’s best naval outfits for some reason; and since everyone sort of spends most of 1899 suffering, it would be really nice to see a take on events (pre, post, or mid-canon, during a previous failed sim, whenever!) where they actually manage to figure things out and get shit done together. I’d love to see lots of different interactions between them, anywhere from g-rated SFW to full threesome NSFW in any way you’d prefer; maybe there is more dialogue (confrontational? confused? hesitantly trusting?) to explore between Daniel and Eyk in the dining room or after Daniel teleports him into the woods, or maybe Maura and Daniel actually find time to have a conversation about their feelings for each other (and for the dear captain as well). Is there a real-world possibility for the three of them to get together? Is this something that might have happened prior to the simulation? Daniel isn’t immediately present in the chamber with Maura when she wakes up, so is it possible that Eyk and Maura have both lost him? Any speculation on their relationships with one another in the real world, their roles on the Prometheus, etc. would also be very fun.

And maybe this is a story where they are all able to enjoy an intimate connection, in 1899 or 2099 or whenever it may be, and it is highly emotionally fulfilling and pleasurable for all parties involved, and there is no plot whatsoever! I would love any and all levels of attraction and emotional and physical connection between them—any way you see this relationship happening, whatever it looks like or means to you, just go for it! I’d love to see these three together in any scenario you’d like to create. <3

Ángel/Ramiro

Finally, a canon ship that includes the funniest series of increasingly implausible explanations for what their relationship is. Ángel and Ramiro are one of the rare canon ships that I have, so my usual favourite method of forming a ship of two or three people who absolutely need to kiss simply because it didn’t happen in canon is a little different here! But I love men with strange traumas, and characters whose canon relationships are filled with impending divorce levels of tension. Whatever their shared past is, simulation memory-esque or not, is clearly a very distressing thing for both of them, and I adore ships that need to work their way through serious problems… especially when one of those problems is, apparently, serial infidelity brought on by a subterranean-level self-esteem. Ángel, they could never make me hate you.

As usual, scenarios that explore “canon” background memory or which explore new and different theories about how and why Ángel and Ramiro got together, what keeps them together, and what it is that’s driving them apart would be great. I love all of the symbolism regarding costumes and masks—I’m a huge fan of Ramiro’s fake priest persona accidentally revealing him as a Really Great Confidant, Actually—and clearly there are a lot of things that they have refused to admit to both themselves and one another. I’d be interested in seeing them in other times and locations and clothing/costumes, and religious iconography would be a really fantastic thing to include here as well! What sort of background does Ángel have, and how does it affect his view of Ramiro? It seems he clearly has some Issues regarding his own identity and others’ perception of him, so I’d love to see something that explores depictions of the two of them either working hard to break down those barriers, or somehow struggling to stop erecting new walls when the suffering really gets them down. But for all their tragic potential, despite the betrayal and despair and fear and thoughts on compromise, in the end they always seem to wind up together regardless of what happens, and I absolutely love it when the universe refuses to let two people move away from one another. So I’d love to see anything you’re willing to make with these two—more wolf and sheep imagery, or other predator/prey symbolism? RE: simulated memories, Ángel ever found the priest facade alluring, and how does he feel about needing to maintain such a cover among so many other people (if he cares about discretion at all)? Does Ramiro find it difficult to balance this religious act with his own sense of self and his own values, and is he just as terrified as Ángel seems to think, or is there more to Ramiro than we see at first glance?

Also, I love the idea of Ángel’s sketchbook serving as a safe of sorts, filled with secrets and beautiful, valuable things, and records of the past, so I’d love to know if the sketchbook is also filled with images of Ramiro, or sketches of places they have been, or are its pages filled with small love letters and notes that he has kept? In versions where Ángel does not die, or perhaps in simulation where Ramiro dies instead, what does their relationship look like in the end? In your opinion, do they remain devoted to one another through thick and thin, regardless of their traumas and pasts? Do they ever break up, or at least experience more dramatic falling-outs? I’d love to see more of Ángel’s scars—write about them, show me flashbacks of how he received them (whether the memory is real or not), let Ramiro caress them lovingly, etc.

And honestly, feel free to play up or build upon Ángel’s infidelity; how does Ramiro take the knowledge of that act? Does it ever bother Ángel, does Ramiro call him out on it, does it matter in the end that he does these things? I'd love to see different takes on their sexual encounters, too; Ángel takes a very dominant and possessive role in their intimate scenes, but is he always like that? Does Ramiro enjoy a rougher encounter, or is Ángel capable of being soft and sweet during sex? I'd love to see Ramiro take charge, or to see him being thoroughly worshipped (or doing his own worshipping at his own pace).

World Building: Exploitable Bugs/Flaws in the Simulation

Alfred is a bug. I think there have to be many, many bugs and flaws in the sim. If tech can be created and programmed, it can be hijacked, altered, and most obviously, corrupted. I want to see all of the bugs, whether literal (like Alfred) or metaphorical (like the glitching/reality-altering interactions he creates, or executes, or whatever language you want to use) or the ones yet to be discovered by anyone in canon. Maybe these flaws are inherent to the system, like that one brief stutter we see happen in episode one, before the game is ever given away (the teacups, you know the moment); maybe the constant altering of the sim by characters like Daniel or Sebastian or even others can be explored, or maybe Alfred himself is all you’d like to focus on. I love that there is a way to directly control the sim tech in a way that is direct and obvious (gadgets), but that you can create literal backdoors by throwing literal bugs at the code. Again, consider this a request to see whatever thing you’d like to make, regardless of medium. Art, schematics or blueprints, documents that explain various bug fixes in Prometheus’ software, error report logs detailing what sorts of shenanigans have previously occurred, even actual computer code! I’d love to see you explore the theoretical sci-fi/modern computation of it all, so please feel free to get creative with your depiction of all of the exploitable simulation technology and gadgets, Alfred included! :’)

World Building: The Visible Corruption of Any Given Simulation

To continue from the previous prompt: whether Kerberos, Prometheus, or any of the other numerous unnamed simulations, I’d love to see your take on whether they were corrupted, how it happened, and most importantly, what it looks like when the sim gets a little too laggy and starts to malfunction! Is it a series of glitches in reality? Does it manifest as a strange and supernatural physical presence, like the crystals on Kerberos? Does it open like a yawning void and let them teleport into new areas, or step into the empty space of the program? Does it affect the members of the simulation by altering or combining their individual memories, or by making them more erratic or exaggerating other characteristics? How would you trigger a corruption of the data, and what exactly would anyone do if they encountered it in previous simulation iterations? I’m just horny for written or visual depictions of things that are corrupted (literally and metaphorically), especially if the corruption is unreal/unsettling/inexplicable enough to the characters that it begins to affect them in horrible and unexpected ways (including House of Leaves-style corruption of the medium format!). Even scene redraws or different interpretations of canon corruption examples would be great! I just want to see things break down horribly, hehe.

World Building: The Secret Networks Hidden Within the Ships

For me, the concept of focusing on the secret networks hidden within the ships can very much be about the physical traversible passageways that the characters crawl through and explore and peel open in the show, but it can also be about the technology and the way that it works; neural networks and passageways in the brain are similar to ones in the “computer”—whatever computer-esque sci-fi tech the sim is said to run on—so secret backdoors could be as much about the physical presence of those eerie disruptions in reality that the characters wander through as it could be about the secret tech backdoors and shortcuts. Since we’re talking about a sci-fi series that allows for these things to exist simultaneously without telling you exactly what it is, the line between reality and whatever exists beyond it is yours to blur as you please.I love the idea that these networks connect the individual memory rooms like neural pathways, but they’re also escape hatches, some programmed in and some that others program or create later, and they can lead anywhere in theory.

Maybe there are versions of this you’d like to explore that exist outside the ships, or which even link the ships to other locations—clearly Sebastian and co. are able to slip in and out of various areas with ease, so there must be more to these little doorways and wire-viscera-lined passages that you could focus on, whether it’s utility and purpose or metaphor or what have you. I also love the image that they evoke, so please feel free to really dig into the ‘I’m moving secretly and silently inside the bowels/blood vessels/guts of this entity’ horror of it all. Are the passageways naturally occurring and necessary connections, meant to be passed through, or is it an intrusion and a distortion of the world to create or pass through or even close one? They’re not supposed to be there, and the uncanny effect they create—those void holes in the sky, the grimy ‘70s sci-fi visual of those wires, like exposed viscera, even the strangeness of emerging from a dark tunnel into a nonsensical space (holy shit those shots are cool)—makes me so happy, and I’d love to see the atmospheric qualities and the visual effect put to use in whatever way you see fit!

World Building: The Storage and Lifespan of Previous Simulations in the Ship Graveyard

More exploration of sci-fi concept stuff! Assume I know nothing about how data storage works and show me what a database looks like. Talk to me about an actual literal ship graveyard with clones of ships floating as far as the eye can see. I want to know what sort of tech can create that horrible space that Eyk and the others traveled to—if they’re all digital, you can explore that process in whatever way you’d like, or if you prefer the haunting visual of those abandoned ships and whatever ghosts they carry, please jump into that too. I find it such a striking concept that so many forgotten memories are just in there, technically accessible as long as one knows the path… like when a website changes its interface and removes public access to certain sections, but typing in the link still takes you directly to the page. You know the frustration I mean. I’d love to see the characters explore the graveyard and the other sims; maybe other clues are hidden there, or maybe you’d like to hint at what has happened in previous simulations by showing the conditions or contents of the other ships through character exploration or art of the interiors or a letter from Henry detailing the code and sequence necessary for archiving and retrieving and deleting a simulation file. Every single one of those boats has a different unique story to tell, and the process of gathering and holding them in this Bermuda Triangle-esque pocket dimension is a story on its own. I’m here for all of it!

World Building: The Technology Behind the Kerberos Simulation

Capping off my many requests for tech world-building, I’d love to see your take on how Kerberos or the technology behind it actually works as a whole. I don’t know much about computer programming, but I’d love to see your take on what this kind of futuristic (or retrofuturistic) tech looks like, and feel free to get as zany and speculative about it as possible. Consider things like screen/system interfaces, program manuals, user protocols, the effects of a simulation on the mind and body, the conditions under which a stable simulation can run (or the destabilizing of it, and the effects of that!), and so on. I’d love to hear about the tech from the perspective of people who know it’s a simulation and know how it works, but also the idea of discovering the tech of the sim the way the characters do in canon delights me greatly. It really adds to the horror-mystery experience, becoming almost a cosmic horror in a sense when it remains nonsensical to the person experiencing it, so feel free to dig into the unreality/supernatural effect of being in a simulated environment and discovering it, the morals and ethics of shoving people into such a program for [literally just name a reason, dealer’s choice], or maybe even explore the specifics of how a brain might interface with a computer to create the world of a shared simulation environment. Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m just as interested in the idea of the brain/neurology as technology (analogue or literal), so you’re also welcome to make a thing that is as much about the brain and human consciousness as you are about a computer. Any and all interpretations are welcome! Good luck :’D

World Building: Kerberos or Prometheus Blueprints & Interiors

This is a general request for, as the tag suggests, blueprints and interiors (and maybe even maps)! This can take whatever form you’d like, really—in writing, I love having descriptions of environments and locations, as well as the people and objects that populate them. Lots of period-appropriate objects, furnishings, late-century technology, including all of the stuff that’s clearly out of place; I’d also gladly take your version of Prometheus 2099 sci-fi locations, too, and you’re welcome to make up or elaborate on as many areas of the ship as possible! Individual passengers’ or crew rooms, dining halls, docking or loading bays, cargo areas, common spaces, hallways and the secret access halls that all ships clearly have, cockpits, bathrooms, you name it. I want to see it all. :’D for visual depictions, more of the same! These could be individual works focused specifically on this prompt or simply incorporated into other works, but I’d love to see visual artistic interpretations of the locations in the show. Actual blueprints or ship schematics, maps of the ship or the locations within them, including the dream/memory sequences, still-life works, anything that incorporates… well, whatever details you find interesting enough to focus on, I suppose! And again, if this ends up being an anatomy diagram, that also is something that very much excites me, hehe.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Around the time Amnesia first came out, I played it. I watched the Let’s Play genre explode and become the thing that every successful YouTuber did. I fell in love with a silly little atmospheric horror game that frightened people like nothing before, and which spawned countless clones and attempts to recreate what Amnesia was… and the rest is history, as they say. Daniel and his orb and all of the horrors of Brennenburg have been with me ever since, reminding me that sometimes silly little survival horror games that drain your actual sanity as you play can inspire a lifetime of joy. I adore these characters, I adore the incredibly immersive atmosphere and sound design and soundtrack, I find the simple push-and-pull, run-and-hide gameplay almost nostalgic, I appreciate what the world and the lore has expanded into, and ultimately I love that a game about a man who cannot remember anything has been an experience so memorable to me that it has shaped my love of indie horror over the course of many years.

Full disclosure, because it may very well be relevant: I haven’t yet played Amnesia: The Bunker, so if there are any bits of lore about Alexander, Daniel, the Shadow, or the Other World in general that are revealed in that game, I’m not fully aware of it—but I have played Rebirth and A Machine for Pigs, so I’m totally fine with the inclusion and exploration of anything that expands canon lore, and I do not mind spoilers for The Bunker if you think it’s useful to include. :’D

Daniel of Mayfair/Alexander of Brennenburg

Every aspect of this ship is interesting to me—an ordinary person with some unpleasant past experiences, Daniel experiences something horrific that makes him an easy target not only for forces with motivations and abilities beyond his comprehension, but for people who can take advantage of him for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately, in the modern age, the story of a person who is frightened, threatened, and lacking in knowledge of the world around them becoming radicalized into believing that committing certain acts of violence is justifiable as long as the subjects meet a specific criteria (the ends justify the means, etc.) isn’t at all uncommon, which generally makes Daniel a pretty compelling character and protagonist; and since indie horror games in particular have beaten to death the ‘amnesiac protagonist loses sanity while discovering own monstrous acts’, I think it’s also neat that Daniel is also influenced not by his own inner demons, but by an actual one—one which leads him straight to Alexander, who is certainly not the only character who does many terrible things, but who is made all the more interesting because it seems like he actually might like Daniel enough to be concerned about all of these atrocities. Not that it stops him from carrying on. :D

The relationship is unique for more reasons than just the obvious ‘morally bankrupt character corrupts desperate character’ arc that unfolds. When these two meet and begin to work together, the age and knowledge gap (remember that Daniel is possibly in his twenties, Alexander in his…250s+?), along with Alexander’s general willingness to take advantage of anyone who can aid him in his quest, makes these two a fun pair together when they become allies… and possibly when they become even more than that. :’D I mean, Alexander being an incredibly old man while Daniel is a naive young man is in itself a fun and sexy dynamic, but Daniel being ‘touched by the Shadow’ (or claimed, depending on how you read Alexander’s words) while Alexander is literally the History channel’s most elusive Ancient Alien means that any character interactions between them can be laced with a great amount of duplicitousness and uncertainty, but also incredibly subtle (or unsubtle) sci-fi tropes related to Alexander’s otherworldliness or even the magic of the orb/mystic arts/whatever else the series hints at. Daniel being desperate enough to survive to allow Alexander to guide his hand and thoughts toward horrid acts… Alexander actually admitting to caring for him and being concerned with Daniel’s compliance… hhhggg. A ship with such a vast age and status gap alone would be fun—the Baron of Brennenburg and the young archaeologist, how delicious—but given that Alexander spends so long teaching Daniel the intimate art of violence and extraction of vitae, the carving and reshaping of the body and psyche, the magical rituals and so on…

Anyway, yeah, you get the idea. I’d love to see them conversing, learning together, experimenting, torturing, wandering the castle; I’d love to see their wariness toward one another beginning to change, whether they begin to develop different and complex feelings for one another or they fall headfirst into a very intimate and thrilling relationship as their work continues and their connection solidifies. I’d love to see the ways in which they’re affected by the threat of the Shadow, the influence of the orb itself on either of them, and/or the things they’re willing to tolerate or embrace in one another as the days pass. Perhaps Daniel has consumed the amnesia drink more than once; maybe Alexander taught Daniel to carve flesh with his own wise hands; maybe things that are frightening to Daniel drive him into the welcoming and comforting arms of Alexander, the lonely baron in his lonely castle, where a warm fire and candlelight are the only things that can keep Daniel’s mind from ruin… anything at any point in canon would be great, and post-canon speculation would be super cool too!

The Kaernk

Honestly, my request for this is almost kind of a joke—what’s easier to make art of than an invisible creature?—but I think a visual depiction of the kaernk would be really neat to explore. The game tells you where it is with little splashes, and I think you could certainly depict a scene (visual medium, fic, or something else) using the same environmental tools. splashes, strange shadows, the movement of things by an invisible force in otherwise still environments. To describe or depict it could be a very strong sensory experience, and you can really hone in on the dread and horror that the kaernk embodies, because it’s every bit as important to explore what is present even when invisible! But if you want to try to depict the creature itself, I’d love to see your take on what an otherworldly* monster like the kaernk might look, sound, and/or behave like! A zoological study of an indescribable alien creature would be really great, and I’d love to see the finished diagram of this funky little guy. ;)

*assuming it comes from Alexander’s world, of course, which I believe canon suggests to be the case—that the kaernk is brought through the portal by Johann Weyer, since the impossible-to-describe greenish tampter in its saliva is necessary to free Agrippa (and don’t get me started on the question of how you get saliva from a critter you cannot see!) but if you think somehow that in their experiments Alexander and/or Daniel managed to create this creature, too, similar to the invisible failed experiment manpigs in A Machine for Pigs, I’d love to hear your thoughts on how they managed it and what the purpose was! No living thing exists without purpose, after all, and I would be so thrilled to know what the kaernks might be capable of, or what other fun tidbits of lore their presence might provide re: Alexander’s scientific experiments and general quest to return home. What alchemical properties would otherworldly saliva contain? What else might you be able to harvest (or milk) from this thing? How do you ensure its vitality and health when you can only determine that it has eaten something? I want to know all of the important stuff: is this a creature you can hold at arm’s length like a cranky yet beloved cat, or is it absolutely going to kill you the moment you try to bathe it? It never seems to go on dry land, and it chases all thrown objects like a dog, so clearly it is very important to tell me your thoughts on whether or not Alexander was petting one of these things like a cartoon villain at some point while Agrippa was losing his sanity in his husk.

Or, you know, just make art of some splashes and call it a day. Truly, that alone would make me laugh like nothing else.

The Grunts (Gatherers)

So they’re a little gross, but I don’t think that makes them any less lovable :( I think it’s safe to state that these are ordinary people who were unfortunately victims of Alexander’s experiments—who hasn’t been changed by a little bit of poisoned wine, am I right—but since this section will be much shorter and sweeter than my kaernk section, I think it would be neat to see them incorporated or depicted in some way. I’d love to see how they help (or possibly attempt to hinder) Alexander or Daniel, or what might happen if they managed to escape Brennenburg and wandered into the forest, or possibly even close to Altstadt. Maybe a look at them attempting to unionize against the Baron? or a different look at what other deformities might have occurred when they changed? The grunts and brutes are so unique in appearance and are so iconic for that reason (who doesn’t look at a grunt and immediately flash back 10 years to the memes?) and I’d love to see them rendered lovingly in whatever way you see fit. <3

World Building: Brennenburg Castle Interiors & Locations

Like my other requests, I just want to bury myself face-first in the world of Amnesia, and that includes Brennenburg in all of its majesty. The atmosphere is such a huge part of what makes this game so appealing, frightening, etc, so I think a deep dive into the acoustics of Brennenburg and the period decor and all of the fun little trinkets present in the game would be very welcome!

I’d like to see it pre-canon, when the castle is younger and less decrepit, not falling apart but warm and healthy and lived-in, bustling with inhabitants (human or not), or mid/post-canon, depending on what you’d like to portray—would Brennenburg survive the portal closure and the Shadow’s wrath? Would anyone escape alive and possible be capable of returning to it, or would any future scholars return to visit it at some time in the modern day? I’d love to see more detailed looks at the various areas within the castle, like the bedrooms or the library, the various alchemy stations and torture chambers; show me through writing or art or any other method you prefer what the castle looked like in its heyday, and surround me with the splendour of a beautiful piece of architecture standing high over a village… or maybe show me what it looks like when a building is cracking and crumbling and everything within it is aged and peeling and cobwebbed and falling apart and tell me what it means when it’s doing the very same thing that its lord is (parallels between the height and power and unraveling and decaying of Alexander and Brennenburg itself would be sooo excellent).

You’re also welcome to make up new areas, too! I’d love to see any and all of the secrets a castle of this size and stature might hold, built and inhabited by a supernatural man with near-unlimited resources. He could have anything at all hidden in this place. How did Alexander manage to build a structure with its own inner sanctum like this? What secret passages do the grunts and servants use to get around? How can there be so many jails and an entire brazen bull? I’d love to see depictions of these locations and rooms alone, or being used by characters for various purposes, and you could certainly make a character or relationship study of it as well—just any good excuse to show off Brennenburg in as much sad and spooky detail as possible. <3

World Building: The Shadow

This thing is scary as heck, and that’s exactly why I’d like to see more of it. What kind of extra-dimensional entity marks a thief for death and alters reality to chase down and slaughter everything and everyone that gets in its way, only to toy with its prey when it has the chance? Why would it kill some, and simply teleport others? Why would the Shadow be so protective of the orbs (I mean, aside from their power and humanity’s ability to misuse it), but why would it manifest the way we see it in Amnesia as strange, fleshy patches when it could simply, you know, grow claws from the walls or drop an entire castle on you?

The Shadow, or the Guardian of the orbs, reminds me a little of The Minotaur from Mark Z. Danielewski’s House of Leaves: an enemy that alters reality and roars most frighteningly, yet does not always reach out to harm the protagonist directly, leaving the environment instead to do its dirty work until it chooses to directly intervene. But those descriptions of what it does to the people Daniel was in contact with are graphic enough, so clearly the entity is capable of causing some serious damage, even if the damage is caused simply by altering reality or manifesting those dangerous organic aspects of itself. I’d love to see a little bit of that explored or included in Amnesia-related works! What if those encounters had gone differently, or what if the Shadow had manifested in a different way? It also seems to be capable of causing great psychological distress, and I think that kind of cosmic horror vibe—an unfathomable being acting in unfathomable ways, creating terror and intrigue due to our inability to comprehend its existence and actions—is right up my alley.

World Building: The Orb(s)

Such a wonderful and unassuming object, these orbs, but it seems like only a select few versed in Mithraic arts are capable of wielding them and unlocking their true potential, which is a little funny for something that kind of just looks like an average Garden Ornament. The alien nature of these artefacts, constantly changing and impossible to describe, is the sort of sci-fi material that I adore, and in particular I love that they have existed in the world for so long and have been completely usable to certain mystic arts practitioners to do incredible things, capable of shattering the psyche and body of others… and then there’s Daniel, putting together his broken pieces, a near-impossible task performed by an average man. I want to know more about the orbs, and I’d love to see your take on what an impossible-to-describe orb that can shatter into madness-bleeding pieces and show you visions of the future might look like! Descriptions of their effects or use, visual depictions of them found across various historical sites or within different religions—how far back do these things go, and what exactly has humanity (or other, non-human civilizations) been doing with them? And for them to be so powerful as to have a Guardian like the Shadow… what an enigma! Please feel free to incorporate Orbs in any way that works for you. :’D

World Building: The Other World

Like I mentioned, I have the info about what we presume to be Alexander’s home planet from playing Amnesia: Rebirth, so anything that is included in that game and/or from The Bunker that you’d like to use is absolutely fair game! Whether you’re interested in building upon existing canon hints—maybe to show why Alexander was banished, or where he was from, what his truest form looked like, how he sustained himself, or how vitae farming and alchemy works, for example—or wish to add something new, I’d love to see it! I love the Giger-esque feeling of the Other World and I love that the tiny hints of it we get from Daniel’s visions and memories are so fantastical and gorgeous, and if you’re familiar with Rebirth, any and all of those visuals are excellent to revisit. Maybe a version of the ending where Johann and Agrippa manage to bring Daniel through the portal in some way would allow Daniel to explore it, or maybe you’d like to focus on other characters from the story, like Professor Herbert, the first human to cross over! I’d love to see more of the Other World both at its busiest and brightest and most prosperous, and at its lowest—the same frightening doom and gloom that we see in Rebirth, the same abandoned alien architecture and tools and technologies, and even… if you’re so inclined… the creatures :D!

Again, I’d love to see any form of medium here—artwork of environments or objects or people or monsters, more journal entries or inscribed alien tablets or holograms, warning posters, or any other form of fantastical message-communicating that you’d like to invent to tell a story about someone or something. Stories about various happenings in the other world would be absolutely wonderful, too, especially if somehow you manage to get Daniel or Alexander in there! Again, I’d just love to see this beautiful and eerie place brought to life once again. <3

DARK

I have a huge amount of love for this series, as most people who know me can confirm; I love the cyclical nature of it, the way time travel is depicted, the philosophizing on destiny, free will, the inevitability of The End, and the way everyone speaks in riddles all of the time, unable to confirm or deny anything because of Paradox Reasons. I just find the writing so fascinating, and there’s so much opportunity to explore the space between certain periods of time as the characters grow older and wiser (and sometimes more jaded and murderous). The aesthetic of the show is absolutely wonderful—there are so many moody, sweeping landscape shots, and some really excellent sci-fi imagery and technology, and every time period has such a distinctive feel to it—and of course, everyone is related in really fucking strange ways, so all of the ships have the potential to get a little weird. ;)

Jonas Kahnwald (& Jonas/Jonas)

I will first begin by stating that by requesting Jonas Kahnwald, I'm absolutely requesting any version of Jonas that you're willing to explore. Teenage Jonas? Stranger Jonas? Adam? Alt-timeline Jonas? You can write or art any of them, or multiple versions of them, or all of them all at once. I love pieces that are strictly about character exploration, and this particular media allows for character studies to happen as other versions of the characters are interacting, so please feel free to get as weird with the timeline here as possible.

For scenes where Jonas is interacting with any other version of himself, there is a great opportunity for highly upsetting and/or cathartic conversations. I really just want a good reason for the Jonases to interact, argue, gaze tearfully at one another, and/or maybe bang. Teen Jonas has had, like, the most sex out of anybody on the show, and I feel like Stranger Jonas is somebody who has deep emotional scarring and, I dunno, just really needs to be held. There are many years of untreated depression and determinism-based anxiety and incestuous attachment issues and all sorts of other things to work with and explore here, along with Jonas's utter inability to recognize himself as he is staring himself in the face (and this happens MULTIPLE TIMES. JONAS PLEASE).

Anyway, please take this opportunity to dig into the psyche of Jonas, the Stranger, and/or Adam. Make Jonas masturbate during the apocalypse, or fantasize intentionally about banging his family members (while still acknowledging how wild it is that everyone he could possibly want to bang is related to him, like, three different ways). Give me some weird Jonas-on-Jonas sex if you'd like! I'd love to see Jonas/Stranger Jonas, or Stranger Jonas/Adam. Or, because why the fuck not, show me what happens when vulnerable teen Jonas winds up in 1921 with Adam, seeking guidance and not yet understanding the man who stands before him. I fucking love old men, okay, and they should be able to bang young men as a treat. Maybe Adam has a moment of regret after being such a goddamn shithead to Jonas in 1921, and attempts to console his teenage self with a handjob; maybe Stranger Jonas meets Jonas a few other times in 2019, and engages in some contact with him that is not a predeterminism lecture, but, I dunno, a highly emotional blowjob after Michael's death. I'm not kidding, I will take the weirdest thing you can come up with. <3

Noah | Hanno Tauber & Noah/Noah

Just like with Jonas, I am 100% down for any version of Noah that you'd like to dig into and create for, and you can absolutely follow the same requests I listed above. Any combination of Noahs from any universe, any time, solo or together. I'm not going to add much else, because I just want a good excuse for someone to give me some Noah content, and you get to choose what kind! I’d love to see the headstrong teen who grew up in a time-travel cult just as much as I’d love to see the sad old dude from the future who just shows up at random intervals and threateningly consumes apples. For added fun, feel free to explore the relationship he has with himself, because their interactions in the early 1920s has an effect on young Hanno for the rest of his life, and I think that's positively delicious! Though since young Hanno would not know the things that Priest Noah has experienced, I’d love to see his curiosity and his reaction to some of the things he’s told. I'd also love to see Priest Noah's feelings on the things he has to say and do (to himself, to his father, etc.) in the name of upholding the cycle and seeking out Charlotte.

You can absolutely include Charlotte and Elisabeth in this, too; show me Noah's love for his family, take me through his anguish at losing his daughter and finding her again; feel free to explore his relationship with Helge (is it weird, recruiting him like this? is it just a part of doing business?) and/or all of the other strange relationships Noah has in his life. What's it like for him, growing up in a different century after the fall of modern civilization? Does he take joy in his work? Do his priorities change over time? What are his final thoughts as everything comes crashing down around him? Please feel free to make whatever you're creating as tragic as possible, because he absolutely deserves it. <3

And if you’re so inclined, you can also take any Noah-on-Noah interactions in a shippy direction (whether Hanno knows who his older self is or not). Maybe Noah from the future requires some consoling, and young Hanno believes he's the perfect person to help this handsome stranger out. Maybe Noah in his priest garb just kind of does it for Hanno, in the most taboo 'oh no, horny man in position of power' way. Maybe Noah remembers a long-forgotten moment from his past in which the man claiming to be his older self gave him some much-needed support and reassurance about his place in everything, but also, like, a handjob or something. Maybe it's just a gentle and supportive interaction; maybe it's mindless porn! The sky's the limit.

Bonus points if Priest Noah just blathers on about some cryptic bullshit, or looms menacingly in a dark forest, or stares at people from afar. We know from his conversation with Helge that he did a little bit of that in the 1900s, and we saw him tell Hanno that there is SO MUCH HE CANNOT SAY, and can infer that he is full of REGRETS. I hope he's just bursting with really vague wisdoms and wants to share everything with everyone, yet has no idea how to clearly and concisely state his intentions. <3

Jonas Kahnwald/Noah | Hanno Tauber

This ship offers a lot of really fun potential, because they have a number of first meetings: young Hanno meeting Jonas in 1921, Jonas meeting Noah in 1986, the pair of them discovering one another rather dramatically in 2023; I'm here for any of those moments in between, or anything that we haven't seen before in canon. They've got a relationship that spans a hundred years, kind of? Or, like, 66 years. Who knows. TIME'S WEIRD AND THEY KNOW IT. But Noah’s devotion to Jonas/Adam is such a delicious thing to play with (because his devotion to all things, including Being Really Strange, is just so strong), and his belief in the prophesied Paradise is ultimately what kills him—not to mention his absolute heartbreak at discovering that Adam is his betrayer, and not Jonas as he knows him during the apocalypse. Their stories are so closely intertwined, and Adam and Noah are the only two who take or are given their (Bible-inspired) names with purpose. Think of the symbolism! Think of the adoration and hero worship!

I am here for absolutely anything that happens in the apocalypse, either when they are in their twenties or older. First time and/or breakup sex! Weird, risky escapades in the forest! Intimacy (whether sexual or not) in unexpected places! Finding places with running water and bathing, and admiring the first semi-nude or entirely-nude clean body they've seen in a little while! Cracking open the God Particle and hanging out in the nuclear power plant! Maybe this is a story about how they first meet and get to know one another in 2023, or maybe they meet in a different manner before Jonas attempts to hang himself; perhaps they take solace in being complete outcasts together, or maybe they clash a few times before becoming a little more comfortable with one another. I think it’d be cool to see them in their protective gear in the power plant, or scavenging for supplies in the apocalypse, or sharing meaningful glances as they depart to their separate sleeping places.

Or Jonas/Noah, but instead of it being a Same Age Ship, it emphasizes the age gap—like teen Jonas with Priest Noah, or young Hanno with Stranger Jonas. Adult Noah has already spent his adult years learning everything about Jonas, sex preferences included, and how mind-blowing would it be to encounter a man who already knows everything you like (and possibly gives you your own kinks, WHAT A PARADOX). Likewise, Stranger Jonas already knows precisely how smug, yet uncertain Hanno is, and he just might answer all of Hanno's 'I already know everything, yet I know so very little' questions about the future - like 'why does my older self speak about you like a scorned lover', or 'what is the nature of our eventual relationship, and why will it hurt me so badly when you betray me'? There are lots of moments in the series where they might interact and have meaningful conversations, even. And if you like, Adam mentoring young Hanno could be exciting, too—what the hell does their relationship look like when Hanno is that young and impressionable, anyway? Are there times where Adam tries to take advantage of him while he’s young, or might that happen only when Noah returns as an adult in 1920?

You can also just use any old excuse to create a Jonas/Noah/Jonas or Noah/Jonas/Noah threesome, in any combination, anywhere between the ages of 16 to 50ish. If you can make this entirely feasible within the canon timeline (for example, the scene where Teen Jonas meets both Noahs at the same time in 1921), I will kiss you on the mouth. But feel free to get creative! I’d love to see them all together in any scenario that you see fit. I’m willing to accept anything at all.

Elisabeth Doppler/Jonas Kahnwald/Noah | Hanno Tauber

This is one of the relationships that I mourn the most from season three, and the more I think about it, the sadder I am that the apocalypse trio does not get any screen time in the show. We all know how Elisabeth feels about Jonas by 2053, and clearly we see how Noah’s feelings toward Jonas evolve over time, and how Adam’s feelings toward Elisabeth and Noah (and his manipulation of them) also evolves through his life; he spends at least a decade and a half with them in the apocalypse, and I feel like they would all grow to be very close friends in that time. :’)

There are lots of opportunities for bonding here; we know Noah and Charlotte eventually have a home, but where does Jonas live/sleep? Would they invite him in, or does he help build the house in the first place? What does it look like when Jonas realizes Elisabeth is in the apocalypse hanging out with Noah, and how much does Noah tell Jonas of his mission to protect her? I think the early days of their relationship, whether it’s platonic or romantic, would be very enjoyable to see. For Jonas, it might be nice to have a familiar face around, despite the age gap, and it might be nice for Noah and Jonas to be guys around the same age, with a little more wisdom and knowledge, just. you know. being bros. And maybe Noah unwittingly takes on the role that Bartosz left behind, and it feels perfectly natural, and nobody knows what that really means!

I’d also love to see scenes where Jonas learns sign language from the two of them, or scenes where they are Doing Things in the name of Getting Out of the Apocalypse—working at the AKW with Claudia, for example, or going on supply missions to retrieve necessary equipment, or spending many nights falling asleep on one another with physics books opened across their laps. At what point do Noah and Elisabeth start building the Paradise/Sic Mundus following in the apocalypse? How does his relationship with Elisabeth change after Noah accuses him of stealing Charlotte, and what sort of terrible stuff happens to Elisabeth to put her in the state that we see in 2053?

I think they’re just neat together, and there’s so much ground to cover that we don’t even get hints of in the show. Things like Noah asking Jonas and Elisabeth (and/or Claudia!) about General Future Things, and learning the ways of the modern world. He's a kid from the early 1900s with a father from the early 2000s - he must know SOME things about the twenty-first century, but probably in the way that any kid knows Some Things About Their Parents' Youth. He also gets tossed into the modern day very promptly, so I think he deserves to learn about things like the internet, memes, pop culture, movies, etc. in the age in which they were most prominent. Teach him about TikTok, or about Netflix And Chill! Show him what songs were popular on a cracked phone screen, or a laptop hooked up to a shitty, barely-usable internet connection. I'm sure he'd love to know about all of the things that happened between 1920 and 2020, and is probably delighted by Gen Z humour, since he was raised by Gen Z kids. I’m sure it would make him feel right at home. ;) For Elisabeth, I imagine she and Jonas talk about Franziska and the others—it might be a good opportunity for Jonas to become a little emotional about the unknown fate of his friends, and for Elisabeth to mourn the loss of her family. Jonas had a direct connection to Peter, too, and I’m sure it would help Elisabeth to have Jonas comfort her and remind her of him on occasion.

As always, feel free to experiment with different ages; if the trio suits you better while they’re younger, go for it! If Stranger Jonas and adult Noah and Elisabeth are more your thing, I love that also! I’m excited to see any take on them at whatever point you’d like to explore. <3

The Sic Mundus Time Travel Cult

*Erit Lux included, but yes! Time travel cult! I want to see more of these strange people, in both timelines (and, possibly, the original timeline?). Going as far back as Tannhaus, possibly even earlier than that, and all the way up to Adam & co. (or Eva & co.), I’d love to see what Sic Mundus gets up to. Who else is part of it? How many ordinary people believed in time travel, or at least attempted it themselves, to get far enough to create a full group? For characters raised in it, like Hanno and Agnes, what must it have been like to follow their principles and doctrines and prophecies? and for that matter, what the hell are they? Hermeticism seems to come up a lot, but IRL hermetic practices don’t strictly involve time travel, so I’d love to see your take on where those principles meet the reality that is inherent to Dark—what do people believe, and are they incredibly secretive about it? Have the members’ thoughts and feelings changed over time? This would be a great way to explore different characters we don’t see much of for large swaths of time, like Magnus and Franziska, Bartosz and Silja, Agnes, and so on.

And speaking of those guys, what’s Sic Mundus like in the late 1800s, when the teens have been stuck for a while and Jonas is hard at work keeping his secrets? For Eva’s team, they all seem to be a little more involved in the process—if most of them are at least a little more aware of their roles, or if the orbs they possess allow them freer movement than the wormhole Adam has, how would that change the course of events for people in that universe? Did anyone other than Claudia make contact with their counterpart, perhaps? Would the events of the story change in any way if they had? I think it’s such a fun sandbox and I’d love to see someone play in it, honestly.

As for other possible approaches or mediums, maybe this would be a great opportunity to explore in-universe documents. There cannot be one journal only, I’m sure of it, and Adam’s study is filled with blueprints galore. What sort of secrets does the Sic Mundus under-church HQ hold? More time travel machine blueprints, or blueprints for other devices or technologies? Audio recordings, video recordings, books or ledgers, newspaper articles, writings that document the origins or proceedings of Sic Mundus. Someone had to build that entire lair, of course, and despite Adam’s lack of faith in God, the church is clearly important to these characters to some extent—but how important is religion, and just how much do the other members see Adam as a messiah or prophetic figure? I’d just like to see Sic Mundus explored in any way you see fit, really, so any depiction of the group and its dynamics would be appreciated.

World Building: Winden Caves & Tunnels

Okay, there might be a full map of the caves that technically exists and is visible in canon, but I admit that my desires for world-building are not strictly satisfied by the canon in this situation. I’d love to see more about the actual labyrinth under Winden in any way you wish to portray it: as an actual map? super cool! I’d love to see a recreation of what characters have drawn out, or annotated sketches of what certain parts of the tunnels look like, or possibly even blueprints for the parts that were utilized for storage by the power plant or built by Bartosz and co. in the early twentieth century! I’d love to see depictions of the tunnels that chronicle its existence throughout the timeline (is it almost entirely natural? did it ever resist man’s influence? are there parts of it that haven’t been explored or that have been collapsed and rendered inaccessible?), or which focus on the environment itself. The subterranean atmosphere, the rock, the sound and feeling of the door being opened and the wormhole’s magic acting on the world, the sense of darkness and isolation and danger inherent in such a place… but also the wonder of a secret passage, so lovingly hand-hewn, filled with glimmering light.

If you like, you can also delve into some classic cave, tunnel, passageway, and/or labyrinth mythology, symbolism, allegory, or whatever else floats your boat. Maybe the Winden caves are like a living breathing creature that hungers for food it can never fully digest, or maybe it is, as described, a labyrinth from which there can sometimes be no escape, and it runs deeper and darker than canon managed to explore! I love the connection canon creates between this actual literal tunnel into darkness that is filled with Time Light and the Hermetic/quabbalistic notions of the passageway through the rock that leads to enlightenment (from Heinrich Khunrath’s Amphitheatrum Sapientiae Aeternae, the book from which Dark’s notorious beloved image of the Emerald Tablet originates). Maybe there’s even a Minotaur in this labyrinth! But yeah, anything that examines the structure, life cycle, and/or spirit of the cave and tunnels would be great. :’)

World Building: The God Particle and/or Wormhole(s)

Like I said above, I want to see more of what this series did not delve into. I’m no particle physicist, but if you know anything about space, time, and what happens when you keep zapping some undying radioactive element with electricity, I’d love to see and hear your thoughts! Actual science would be really neat, if that’s your thing—the process of creating the god particle, whether via theory or character-focused exposition, the possible effects of having created it (local, environmental, etc.), the effects of being around and/or traveling through it! This would be a great opportunity for diagrams, equations, depictions of characters Doing Science or otherwise engaging with this impossible thing. Whether inert or active, the particle has such a striking image that I think any artistic rendering of it would tickle me completely, as would any and all descriptions of it being observed or used. What’s it like to touch it? To walk into it? How much time does Jonas (and his apocalypse and/or Victorian-era crew) spend working on it, or even Eva and her team, and how frustrating/exciting/mesmerizing is it?

Generally, I think this would be a good opportunity for character or relationship studies, as well as a neat little foray into sci-fi time travel science shenanigans! A depiction of the travel experience (it made Jonas vomit, and clearly it is highly volatile and dangerous to travel through) would be cool, or even a revisiting/reinterpretation of that one marketing artwork that was the Creation of Adam where Adam and Jonas nearly touch fingers through the wormhole would tickle me! Or maybe a character just gets really horny for radioactive material and fantasizes about fucking it, I dunno. Not that I’ve ever thought about Jonas doing that. Ever. :/ but more god particle shenanigans overall, please and thank you. <3
